Previous Years Campaign...

My 2010 Vision Statement
I feel that I have had a lot of experience planning, organizing, and volunteering at various school and community events. I am in our school’s branch of the National Junior Honor Society and a SWAT tour-guide. I am also in the 4H Youth Program. As a current member of the Leadership class at SMS, I have had the privilege of helping with the preparation and running of school functions. I love to volunteer and help better our school environment. My goal is to provide an enjoyable, welcoming environment to all students. As Activities Coordinator, I would provide the student body with voice in their activities and make our school functions fun for everyone.
My 2010 Activities Coordinator Speech
Hi, I’m Sam Palladino and I am running for Student Council Activities Coordinator. My goal as an Activities Coordinator candidate is to MAKE SCHOOL FUN FOR EVERYONE! I know that being locked up in school from 8-3, Monday through Friday isn’t every student’s dream, so I want to make our time here  just a little more enjoyable. Whether it is students or faculty, I will involve everyone to make school functions enjoyable for all SMSer’s.
I love to volunteer and will spend as much time as I can to plan activities that will be fun and entertaining for everybody in our school. Throughout the past year, I have helped organize and coordinate the Harvest Fest, Raider Challenges, Raider Buck competitions, Pennies for Patients, Help for Haiti, and other school fundraisers. I also spoke at the first trimester Honor Roll assembly.
Through my experience in leadership class, NJHS, and SWAT, I have developed many ideas to improve our school atmosphere. One idea that I wish to accomplish is to place multiple suggestion boxes throughout the school to encourage student voice and involvement. I also feel that the behavior incentives that we have had this year have worked well and I am hoping to continue these projects throughout the next year.
No matter if I am elected or not, it’s been a very educational experience going through this whole campaign process. From making t-shirts and posters to presenting my speech to all of you, I had a great time! Here at Sherwood Middle School, we have the best kids, awesome teachers, and amazing faculty, so I if am elected, I am going to do my part in making our school the best it can be!
